Rules:
Eligibility: The competition is open to all dancers of any age and skill level.
Performance Time Limits: Each routine must be no longer than the time limit specified by the competition. Any routine that exceeds the time limit will be penalised 5 marks.
Music: All music must be appropriate and edited to a suitable length. Any music that contains offensive language or lyrics will result in disqualification.
Costume and Props: All costumes and props must be appropriate for a family-friendly audience. The use of any dangerous or prohibited props is strictly prohibited.
Choreography: The choreography must be original and not plagiarized from other routines or performances. Any routine that is found to be plagiarized will result in disqualification.
Judging: All decisions made by the judges are final.
Sportsmanship: All participants are expected to display good sportsmanship and respect towards other competitors, judges, and staff. Any behavior that is deemed inappropriate or disrespectful may result in disqualification.
Liability: The competition directors, staff, and venue are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or losses that occur during the competition.
Photography and Videography: DancePro Photography will be in attendance. Professional videography and photography will be available for purchase. Strictly no use of mobile phones, camera or videos, students may face disqualification.
Entry Fees: Entry fees are non-refundable and must be paid in full before the competition. If the competition is cancelled a refund will be provided minus booking fee and admin fee.
Insufficient numbers: Any sections containing 3 or less competitors may be combined, cancelled or amended.
Large Entries: Any sections with 20 or more competitions will be split.
Mind Blanks: If a student runs off the stage they will be permitted to perform again and be scored. Mistakes happen and we want to show compassion and respect to all dancers.
Age: D.O.B is taken from the 1st January 2024. Troupes are determined by the average age of the group, as of the 1st January 2024.
Cleanliness: All rubbish is to be disposed of in the bins provided.
Smoking: No smoking is permitted on the school grounds.
